Past and ongoing projects in South Sudan

ERP with the technical support of IPCS has implemented an urban vegetable growing project for women in Maridi

Vulnerable women in the urban areas have no knowledge of utilizing their small backyard lands to produce home needed vegetables. So ERP with IPCS introduced this skills to women in Maridi in 2014, provided them with inputs, seeds/seedlings, construction materials and tools. In the first one month, the women saved money on buying vegetables and got back to eating from their backyard. The lessons from this project have been replicated in other projects and it is working very well.

Vulnerable women vegetable producers group

IPCS/ERP invested Euro 50,000 in supporting 200 LRA widows in Maridi in 2015 to produce assorted vegetables including tomatoes, cabbages, egg plants, okra, Sukuma wiki, onions. We thought them how to process, preserve, sell and save the income for reinvestment. From our demonstration farms the women can now produce vegetables from their farms and backyard gardens. Maridi is vegetable secure at the moment

Vocational skills development for income and improved livelihoods
